ᐱᑲᐧᑕᑭᐠ ᑲᓇᐁᐧᒋᑫᐃᐧᐣ (Land-based Care) Activity

During this ᐱᑲᐧᑕᑭᐠ ᑲᓇᐁᐧᒋᑫᐃᐧᐣ (land-based care) activity, locate yourself in ᐊᐧᑯᒥᐁᐧᐃᐧᐣ (relationship) to the land while acknowledging the land is ᐁᐧᐡᑲᐨ ᐊᓂᔑᓂᓂᐊᐧᐠ ᑲᑭᐱᔑᑲᐯᔑᐊᐧᐨ ᐅᐦᑕᑭᒥᐊᐧᐠ (the ancestral lands of the Original Peoples) and that they continue to be dispossessed to the benefit of all settlers. Consider how you can ᐊᐦᑭᐃᐧ ᑲᓇᐁᐧᒋᑫᐃᐧᐣ (care for the land) which sustains you.

Open your senses and perceptions to touch a tree, observe a bird, smell the air… Allow these sensations and perceptions to become a seed for reflection, creativity, and care. “The land must once again become the pedagogy.”2(footnote)
