Land-based Care Activity

Touch, smell, observe a tree or water, notice the movement of your breath…

During this land-based care activity, locate yourself in relationship to the land while acknowledging the land is the ancestral lands of the Original Peoples and that they continue to be dispossessed to the benefit of all settlers. Consider how you can care for the land which sustains you.

Open your senses and perceptions to touch a tree, listen to a bird, smell the air… Allow these sensations and perceptions to become a seed for reflection, creativity, and care. “The land must once again become the pedagogy.”2(footnote)
